We are still in the dog days of summer. The good news is – We have an MLB All-Star game to look forward to.
In the game we start off with one of the best pitching matchups in past decade – Tarik Skubal vs Paul Skenes. Sure they are only going to pitch one inning but who cares!? We are about to witness the future of the sport on display for an entire inning of baseball. It is going to be glorious! Assuming you enjoy a good pitcher battle (little to no runs, lots of strikeouts, very little batter movement). This is the dream scenario for baseball purists.
Now the betting angle here is interesting. You have two pitchers who are arguably the best in the game and even facing the best players in baseball odds are they’re not going to give up many runs. The good news is – They are only pitching one inning. So it’ll be a free for all after that!
Here are a couple of bets to keep an eye on:
- Draft Kings is running a +100 prop for over 1.5 runs (usually -154) for the first three innings.
- Why – It is the all star game. The best of the best are going to be swinging for the fences. Are you telling me were not going to see two runs scored after 1/3rd of the game?
- The line has been moving. The AL was the favorite at -115 but that is now +108.
- Why – The NL has a lineup of power hitters. With that said the NL has only won the game twice since 2012.
- Skubal/ Skenes both have -150 for under 1.5 strikeouts and with them only playing one inning that could be a play.
Either way were in for a treat.
The best pitchers in baseball going head to head. Buckle up and enjoy!
